That's my major. I am a communicative arts and literature teaching candidate. I want to teach high school English. And I thought I had seen some bad teacher, like my physics teacher from high school. Then I got to WSU. Every teacher I've had so far, has been really good.
I was so excited for this semester because I have classes that i like and am good at, except geology. And I got to my English class... then, nothing. Absolutely nothing. He is boring, and we do nothing in class. If he is lecturing or doing a presentation he reads off the screen but AT the screen, not at us. His explanations for papers and homework is minimal to none. Like this final paper, I don't understand it at all. it's frustrating. Because I need to know what to do if you want me to do something. A rubric would be nice, or some guideline. But no. Nothing.
The main point of this is to say that I will NEVER BE A TEACHER LIKE HIM.
ANYWAY. On to something more interesting, I found a new favorite website. It's called dearblankpleaseblank. Here's an example:
